Canal-side Roof Terrace Garden
In a fantastic location overlooking the Regent's Canal, we transformed this tired and outdated garden into a city chic, modern roof terrace with clean lines and lush planting. After removing the nasty concrete pavers we repaved the floor with pre-sealed Harvest Indian sandstone and then added bespoke powder-coated planters around the edges. These were planted up with a quintet of Olive trees, Rosemary, Lavender, Salvia caradonna, Artemisia Powis Castle and Stipa tenuissima.
The terrace is framed with painted slatted trellis on two sides and the contemporary look was completed with a built in storage bench and large luxury U shaped sofa.
Being four floors up and with views to die for, this terrace is now a lovely place to spend a chilled out evening watching life go by on the water below.
"Philip and his team have done a fantastic job. We felt very well looked after from the very first day when Philip came for an initial visit. He not only helped us to convert our ideas but also brought in many great recommendations that helped to transform our roof terrace into a great green oasis. The actual works were carried out as discussed and on time. His team was extremely reliable and completed very versatile tasks so that Fork provided a complete solution - from replacing the old concrete tiles with great new sandstone paving to composing and installing the planting. Philip is very creative and we love his modern style. We are very happy with the results and are enjoying our new roof terrace no matter whether we are sitting outside or just looking at it from the inside."

The roof terrace before
Before the renovation the roof terrace was a dull and messy space which the owners had unsussessfully tried to brighten up with few climbing plants and some outdoor furniture. However, the terrace still felt like an uninviting place from which to admire what is actually a fantastic view over the Regent's Canal.
Work underway on the terrace
Replacing the tired and heavy paving for larger sized, smooth, light coloured sawn Indian sandstone was one of the key elements in brightening up the dull terrace, complemented by light grey metal planters full of evergreen and perennial plants.
